Specialties: The customers who come in are amazed at the selection and the quality of the Japanese imported gift items, table top/dinnerware, dolls and glass cases, Ikebana vases and accessories, kitchenware, lacquerware, and ironware that we carry. Established in 1958. The business began in 1958 when the shop opened on historic First Street in Little Tokyo. At that time, basic staples like rice, soy sauce, rice bowls and chopsticks were sold. As business improved and grew, "Skip" and Aiko decided to bring in their own unique selection of fine Japanese porcelain and home decor items. Later, with redevelopment and the building of the Japanese Village Plaza, Rafu Bussan, Inc. moved to a 7,000 square foot store showcasing the latest and traditional treasures from Japan. With the owner of the building selling the property after being there for over 30 years, Rafu Bussan had to moved again and made their new home inside the Honda Plaza. The store is a lot cozier, but, we still provide the same high quality items and many new imports from Japan. There is convenient parking inside the strip mall, as well as many eateries close by.
